Report on National Voters Day Awareness

National Voters Day was celebrated with pomp on January 25, 2020 at the local Pradeep Memorial Comprehensive College of Education. About 100 students were present on the occasion. Addressing the students, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Bharti Dimri explained the importance of voting on how they can use their vote properly to contribute to nation building. She called upon the youth to join politics and contribute to the creation of a strong India. All the students took an oath to exercise their right to vote. Associate Proffessor Dr. Ritu Malhotra informed the students about voter rights. She said that the younger generation can use their vote properly to bring change in the country and can play a strong role in nation building. On this occasion students make a wall of democracy on which each students sign.
All the teaching and non-teaching staff were present on the occasion.

Report of Swachhta Pakhwada,2020

PMC College of Education observed Swachhta Pakhwada, 2020 during 23rd January to 6th February 2020. Under the guidance of the Principal Dr. Bharti Dimri, all the students and staff participated in various activities.
PMC College of Education always strives to make students sensitive and aware towards environment for the noble mission of making our nation green and clean. The program started with influential speech by the Principal on the importance of trees. Further, Tree Plantation drive was conducted by the College. In plantation drive under Swachhta Pakhwada various students of the colleges planted saplings on 5th February 2020. Moto behind this initiative was an effort to reduce air pollution in Delhi which has reached the alarming levels. The students prepared banners and slogans like “Ped lagao Desh bachao” “save paper save tree” which were used in the rally to aware the community. The students also took a pledge for planting trees and working towards sustainable development. The drive was a huge success as it empowered students and the nearby locals were also made aware about environment.

All the activities were very effective in conveying the messages. The Principal appreciated all the faculty members and the students for contributing their part and making Swachhta Pakhwada, 2020, successful.

Policy on the Clean and Green Campus

A Green Campus is a place where environmental friendly practices and education combine to promote sustainable and eco-friendly practices in the campus. The green campus concept offers an institution the opportunity to take the lead in redefining its environmental culture and developing new paradigms by creating sustainable solutions to environmental, social and economic needs of the mankind.

College environmental aims and objectives
  • The college is striving to develop its institution on a self – sustainable basis in the areas of Power, water and cleanliness.
  • The faculty, staff and students have to contribute collectively to develop an eco – friendly Sustainable campus and disseminate the concept of eco – friendly culture to the nearby community and wherever possible.
  • Awareness creations about environmental issues among students and employees including Climate change

 

Waste Management
  • To increase the green cover in and around the campus
  • To adopt methods for waste segregation
  • To reduce hazardous waste and its management
  • To encourage paperless work culture and recycling/ reuse of paper
  • Display waste management instructions/alerts at prominent/relevant locations in the campus

 

Water Management

Adopting following measures in campus to reduce water consumption

  • Rain water harvesting
  • Change of taps which are either more water efficient or sensor based taps
  • Display water management instructions/alerts at prominent/relevant locations in the campus

We intend to pursue a programme of continuous improvement in our procedures, practices and review the policy on a regular basis to evaluate continued relevance and to monitor compliance.

Right to Education on 2nd November 2020

On 2nd November 2020, the Pradeep Memorial Comprehensive College of Education organized a workshop on the Right to Education through online mode. Principal Dr.Bharti Dimri welcome all the students and faculty members, while addressing the students, the principal told how the students can stay safe and healthy during the time of corona .By telling the importance of education she started her session .She explained the importance of elementary education and the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, of 2009 to the students. Under this Act, children between 6 to 14 years of age can get free and compulsory education. The event was helpful as it helped students to understand the value of education in one’s life and the right to get free elementary education After the Principal’s session ,Prof. D.D Aggarwal, Guest Lecturer explained the “ Child Rights Act 2005’” and its follow-up was a highly interactive and effective session. He explained at length the additional rights enjoyed by children over adults. These children are allowed to enjoy Human Rights along with Child Rights.
The event was concluded with the feedback form from the participants which covered the basic questions about the workshop.

 

National Education Policy-2020

Report of National Seminar on “Making Inclusion work with special reference to Differently Abled and Gender perspective”

(6th March, 2020)

The seminar began with the warm welcome of the resource persons by Dr Bharti Dimri and Mr. Sunil Kumar Pandey. The key note speaker Prof. (Dr.) Dhananjay Joshi, from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, was called upon for this purpose.
The other speakers were Prof. M.C. Sharma from IGNOU, Prof. D.D Aggarwal, (Ex Professor, Delhi University), Dr. Pramod Kumar Mehra, from Indira Gandhi National Open University and Dr. Anu Mehra from Delhi University.

After the lamp lightening, Principal of the college Prof. Dr. Bharti Dimri said few words about the resource person and the seminar. The theme paper was presented by Ms. Poonam Kumari. Then the session took by Prof. Dhananjay Joshi. He highlighted the main points of NEP 2020 in this regard and put forth the suggestions to bring quality in the education system.
Paper presentations were done by the faculty members from different collegesafter the snacks and lunch. Thereafter rest of the sessions were taken by the other resource persons.
At the end report and vote of thanks was given by Dr. Manisha Minochha.
In the valedictory, certificates were given to all the paper presenters. Then all the faculty members, resource persons and students assembled for the group photographs.
The seminar was full of saga of knowledge and the galaxy of intellectuals made it successfull.
